Cut Both Ways, by @CarrieMesrobian

Will Caynes never has been good with girls. At seventeen, he’s still waiting for his first kiss. He’s certainly not expecting it to happen in a drunken make-out session with his best friend, Angus. But it does and now Will’s conflicted—he knows he likes girls, but he didn’t exactly hate kissing a guy.
Then Will meets Brandy, a cute and easy-to-talk-to sophomore. He’s totally into her too—which proves, for sure, that he’s not gay. So why does he keep hooking up with Angus on the sly?
Will knows he can’t keep seeing both of them, but besides his new job in a diner, being with Brandy and Angus are the best parts of his whole messed-up life. His divorced parents just complicate everything. His father, after many half-baked business ventures and endless house renovations, has started drinking again. And his mom is no help—unless loading him up with a bunch of stuff he doesn’t need plus sticking him with his twin half-sisters counts as parenting. He’s been bouncing between both of them for years, and neither one feels like home.
Deciding who to love, who to choose, where to live. Whichever way Will goes, someone will get hurt. Himself, probably the most.

So. I'm falling asleep and want to keep reading Cut Both Ways by Carrie Mesrobian. I feel way too identified with this book. So. Identified. Fine, not that much. Mostly because the boy is the... uke. To call it that way.
By uke I mean the one on the bottom in gay relationships. I'm not like that, so it's kind of like looking at it from the other side. Plus, he's a dude, I'm not. Women are far more complicated and the social implications of everything fuck up your life at this age. Anyway, I'll copy this and paste it in a new post for Cut Both Ways, 'cause I'm rambling about it and this is Throne of Glass' post.
And there it is. Now I'll copy-paste the reason I don't keep fangirling.
FINE, I'M RAMBLING TOO MUCH. I'm exhausted. I had a really hard day from really early in the morning and didn't sleep shit last night. I'll get some sleep and come back in the morning.
Bye guys! *oo.51 am*
(Now's actually 00.55 am)
(1.01 am now and I'm looking around for some new books)

Okay, I'm back. I barely slept that night. And I got like, five new books. That was eleven days ago.
Now, this book follows Will Caines. His parents are divorced, his dad with some driking problems that were supposed to be over and his project to remodel the house that cause some huge problems. There's also his mother, with her new husband -I believe he's her husband, I don't remember exactly, and telling him to take care of her twin young daughters, and not treating him exactly the way a great mother would.
So, he's having a hard time. And then he gets drunk, and he's high and he makes out with his best friend. 'Where the hell did that came from?' You may be wondering. Well, Will is asking himself the same question. Why in hell does he enjoy so much kissing his absolutely gay best friend, Angus, and also kissing Brandy?
Hell, know the answer. Though it doesn't really matter.
Brandy! I don't like her. Anyway, she's a sophomore girl, younger than him (that's a problem to her in the beginning), that he starts paying more attention at. They actually move pretty fast, and start dating.
So how to deal with his father falling into pieces, his mother mistreating him badly, taking care of his little sister and try to decide what to do about the two people he may or may not love? Trying to understand why does he like being with a man and also being with a woman, and keeping it a secret from everyone, and dealing with this sudden feelings and his family, Will is having a really hard time.
Hope it ends up well, huh?
I like this book because the characters are so realistically complex, and the way they feel about things, and react to them, and their interactions and relationships with other character are that way, too.
Also, the writing is really good. It's an easy read, and I personally feel really identified with the plot. If you haven't been through any situation like these, not even close, and you're not empathetic and open-minded you won't like it. If you have, or you are, then you'll be able to love it among the rest of us.
I already read it. Now you need to go and pick it up right now.
Unless you're homophobic, of course. In that case I'd like to inform you I'm bisexual, and I still do some amazing reviews, laugh at your suffering and look damn great while doing it. We're just like any other fucking person. Put that inside your tiny tiny brain and believe it. Reading this book might help you open your mind a little bit.
This book gets...

The Sword of Summer, by @camphalfblood

Magnus Chase has always been a troubled kid. Since his mother’s mysterious death, he’s lived alone on the streets of Boston, surviving by his wits, keeping one step ahead of the police and the truant officers.
One day, he’s tracked down by a man he’s never met—a man his mother claimed was dangerous. The man tells him an impossible secret: Magnus is the son of a Norse god.
The Viking myths are true. The gods of Asgard are preparing for war. Trolls, giants and worse monsters are stirring for doomsday. To prevent Ragnarok, Magnus must search the Nine Worlds for a weapon that has been lost for thousands of years.
When an attack by fire giants forces him to choose between his own safety and the lives of hundreds of innocents, Magnus makes a fatal decision.
Sometimes, the only way to start a new life is to die...

It was amazing! (It really was).
The Sword of Summer is the first book in the Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard series, by Rick Riordan. He's Rick Riordan on Facebook and @camphalfblood on Twitter. His official website is as amazing as his books and has lots of great data and useful stuff. And some extra things, I think. Holy shit! Okay, I just opened it and they did a re-designing thing and it's absolutely different. I can't decide if either this one's better, or the last design was.
I think I'll just copy-paste my improvised Facebook review.
I just finished reading The Sword of Summer!
It's the first book in the Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard series, which is Rick Riordan's latest series.
As always, I loved the characters and the sass, and sarcasm and humor in this book. The characters-relationships and plot developments were absolutely awesome and the plot itself was stunning. As in every Rick Riordan book.
Of course it wasn't perfect. The writing is for middle-grade, so it's absolutely understandable the simplicty of it. But it's still there.
Also, some little details I honestly don't have time or patience to point out -and other not-so-little ones, are bothering me.
I found so many things in common with other books of his! Even the Kane Chronicles. The Volkswagen thing, and every other name-pun was a lot like the one with Nut... Yup, Kane Chronicles.
I'm pretty sure all those references where intentional. Especially after the one about Jason... Lol I freaking loved that one.
Rick Riordan's books will make you fall in love, obsess over them, etc, etc, etc. They will also make you go through, literally, mind and physical agony while waiting for the next book because he just seems to love leaving us hanging with one hand holding to the edge of a cliff that leads to Tartatus every time we read the end of one of his books.
Is it too soon guys? Idk, just get it over with already.
Basically, I want the next book. And the Trials of Apollo books. WHICH I SAID WOULD BE PUBLISHED BEFORE EVEN RICK RIORDAN DID, BTW. Told yah. Now the first book will be out soon!
The second book in the Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard series is called (and if you read book one you'll laugh with me at this), 'The Hammer of Thor'. I know, hilarious, right? If you didn't understand, I'm basically commanding you to read the book and then come back and laugh with me.
Anyways, The Ha- Nope, can't say it. The second book will be out on April 10th of 2016. Yay!
The first book in the Trials of Apollo series is called (again, hilarious. But what else should or could we expect from Rick himself?), 'The Hidden Oracle'.
It'll be out on March 5th - Fuck yeah, motherfuckers. I'll have the book for my birthday, 2016.
The Trials of Apollo is another new series by Rick Riordan, and it'll feature, as a more important character than in Magnus Chase (because I'm hoping, begging, praying for him to appear, and I'm 99% sure he will), Percy Jackson. Once again. But, he's not the main character this time. Apollo is.
In The Blood of Olympus there was kind of a really open ending for Apollo, and Rick left us wondering what his punishment would be.Well, here's our answer. I'd post about it, but I don't like it without the cover, so I will when it's revealed. I'll leave the synopsis below this, though.
How do you punish an immortal?
By making him human.
After angering his father Zeus, the god Apollo is cast down from Olympus. Weak and disorientated, he lands in New York City as a regular teenage boy. Now, without his godly powers, the four-thousand-year-old deity must learn to survive in the modern world until he can somehow find a way to regain Zeus's favour.
But Apollo has many enemies - gods, monsters and mortals who would love to see the former Olympian permanently destroyed. Apollo needs help, and he can think of only one place to go . . . an enclave of modern demigods known as Camp Half-Blood.
know, right? Doesn't it sound fucking amazing?
We already know The Trials of Apollo will be another five-books series, like PJO and and Heroes of Olympus.
Magnus Chase, though, will be a trilogy, like the Kane Chronicles. Unless there's a change of plans, but I don't think the plot can extend much further than three books.
YOU SHALL NOT READ THESE BOOKS IF YOU HAVEN'T READ EVERY SINGLE ONE OF RICK'S BOOKS PLACED IN THIS WORLD.
The order would be:
  • The five books in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.
  • The extras from the mentioned series (make no mistake, those are only The Demigod Diaries and The Demigod Files).
  • The Kane Chronicles trilogy.
  • The five books in the Heroes of Olympus series.
  • The three ebook crossovers.
  • Every other extra (there are quite a few).
  • And then The Sword of Summer (Magnus Chase #1).
  • And then The Hidden Oracle (Trials of Apollo #1).
  • And then The Ha- Sorry, I just can't hahahaha. Well, Magnus Chase #2.
SPECIFICALLY IN THAT ORDER. Or else, you'll miss lots of references and it would be like reading half a book. Plus, I'd kill you.
This book obviously gets five out of five stars. And I hardly give four-stars rating. Keep that in mind and read these damn books!
Guys, please read it and suffer with me. Even better, read all of them and fangirl in the comments or to my email so I can see you suffer and laugh. Hahaha.

Appealing new prequel! @JamesDashner

...the novel will explore the creation of the Maze, and how the Gladers all got there. After all, Thomas, Teresa and their fellow Glade-dwellers didn’t choose to jump into that freight elevator and forget their pasts. Or did they?
“From the very beginning, I’ve always wanted to write a prequel about Thomas, Teresa, Newt, Minho, Alby and all the Gladers that leads up to the very moment Thomas enters the Box,” Dashner said in a release that will hit wide later today. “There are so many things hinted at that will be fun to reveal in depth. For years, fans have made it abundantly and enthusiastically clear that they want the same thing, so now seems like the perfect time to give readers the story of how the Maze began.”
So, personally, I'm not a fan of the Maze Runner trilogy, but this should be damn interesting.
Read more here.
MTV News got the exclusive! Lucky guys.
It'll be published by Random House Children's Books, and it'll be out on September 27, 2016!
There's not much more to say, so I guess I'll just leave you to freak out and look forward to this really... Appealing prequel.

The Girl's Got Secrets, by @lindakage

Here’s the same old “girl posing as a boy” story but with a rock-n-roll twist.
Remy Curran dreams of one day being in a band, except the group she wants to join refuses to hire a girl drummer. So, she auditions as a guy...and makes the cut.
Becoming “Sticks,” a member of Non-Castrato, isn’t quite what she dreamed it would be, though. She spends most of her time keeping up the subterfuge and learning how to walk, talk, act, and drink like a man.
But what’s even harder to deal with is acting oblivious when the band’s heartthrob lead singer, Asher Hart, treats her like one of the guys and not a woman. She never imagined he’d be so much more than a pretty face with a nice voice. But he’s better than perfect. He’s perfect for her.
When love and lies combine, Remy must keep up the act or lose everything. But who knew lying to reach one dream could prevent you from attaining an even bigger dream?

I really liked it!
Seventh book in the Forbidden Men series, by Linda Kage. Again, the official Facebook group with the author herself is called ‘Forbidden Men Lovers’, in case you want to join.  Plus, there are some really interesting, must-read information in Linda’s website. You need to go to the ‘Bookshelf’, and then to the ‘Forbidden Men Series Page’. Look for the small, blue link.
And yes, I copy-pasted this from the sixth book, right here.
I'll re-read it and then upload the owed review, but to begin with, this book is absolutely not whatever you're imagining right now, so stop the prejudices already. Ok, I do that with books all the time, but that's not the point.
You won't expect what happens in this book. It's great, and I think Linda's writing only gets better with every book she writes. I still have to read her other series... (Yes, there are more series. Read 'em all!).
The plot is just awesome and the two characters are so special! They're unique, and amazing people. And damn surprising, that's sure.
Okay, I got inspired. A bit. I'll make it better really soon, sorry. I've been so fucking busy lately, I can't believe I didn't even have time to write a single freaking review.
Anyway... This book will surprise you, amaze you, make you fall in love and break your heart. And then again, and again, and again. Damnit, it's frustrating. You'll want to kick the characters heart, and then you'll think 'YES! THAT'S IT! DON'T LISTEN TO YOUR STUPID COMMON SENSE, GIRL! IT'S USELESS, GO WITH HIM!'.
By the way, why does everyone pay any attention to their common senses? It's useless. You guys must be bored really often, hahahaha. That goes for some characters I know too. Fuck you guys. No, seriously. Fuck already.
Anyway, I missed the point. But I think you can see just what this book does to you. It'll take your expectatives and throw them away so it can still keep getting better and better.
When I finish re-reading it and I'm on my fangirl-mode I'll write a probably-full-of-spoilers review in white letters... what's the above for under? Oh, below. Below this. I... think.
I'm Argentinian, have mercy! I always confuse the English word with the French one... Mercy. Weird. Like toilet.
Okay, totally rambling now. Sorry, I need to read for a couple hours and get some sleep. Having a conversation/learning Portuguese while having about six or seven conversations in Spanish while writing reviews and reading stuff in English blew up my brain. I need to find an Italian friend to learn some Italian... And convince my Hungarian friends to teach me Hungarian too. You may have noticed, I love learning new languages.
Stop rambling and go to sleep already! Malena, go. Get. Some. Sleep!
Oh, hey there common sense. I thought I had killed you.
I'll go to bed... and read for a while. Take that, common sense.

Worth It, by @lindakage

 I fell in love once.
It was amazing. She was amazing. Life was amazing.
I lived for each time I could see her, and nothing else mattered, not that our families were enemies, our time together was forbidden, or we had to meet in secret.
Our love could conquer all.
Until it didn’t.
So I was ripped away from the love of my life and shoved into hell, forced to continue without her.
It shattered me, broke the best parts of me, left me permanently damaged.
Or so I thought.
Years later, I swear history’s trying to repeat itself because she’s back in my life, and I’m just as drawn to her as I was before. But I’m older and wiser now, and I know she should stay away from a worthless ex-con like me.
So, I will not let her in. I absolutely refuse to hurt her. I will keep her away.
Then again, sometimes risking your greatest fear to get to a smile makes everything worth it, and besides, I’m not sure I can resist her, anyway.
This is the story of how Felicity Bainbridge changed my life forever, starting one summer day long ago after I was forced to change a dirty diaper…

Sixth book  in the Forbidden Men series, by Linda Kage.
And yes, I copy-pasted this from the fifth book, right here.
I really don’t have much to say… I like Knox, unlike Felicity, and what I like the most in this book, besides the writing, is Knox’s relationship with the other guys. I love it, and how it changes and they come to respect and love him with time. That was a small spoiler, that’s why it’s white. Select it and you’ll be able to see it.
I really don’t have much to say about this book, sorry. I guess I’m not inspired anymore. Damnit. I still have to write the review of the seventh book, and that’s a must-do because of a deal I made with the author/publishing house. I’m not sure which.
Anyway, I liked this book and I enjoyed it, but it’s not as good as the previous ones.
