Cut Both Ways, by @CarrieMesrobian

Will Caynes never has been good with girls. At seventeen, he’s still waiting for his first kiss. He’s certainly not expecting it to happen in a drunken make-out session with his best friend, Angus. But it does and now Will’s conflicted—he knows he likes girls, but he didn’t exactly hate kissing a guy.
Then Will meets Brandy, a cute and easy-to-talk-to sophomore. He’s totally into her too—which proves, for sure, that he’s not gay. So why does he keep hooking up with Angus on the sly?
Will knows he can’t keep seeing both of them, but besides his new job in a diner, being with Brandy and Angus are the best parts of his whole messed-up life. His divorced parents just complicate everything. His father, after many half-baked business ventures and endless house renovations, has started drinking again. And his mom is no help—unless loading him up with a bunch of stuff he doesn’t need plus sticking him with his twin half-sisters counts as parenting. He’s been bouncing between both of them for years, and neither one feels like home.
Deciding who to love, who to choose, where to live. Whichever way Will goes, someone will get hurt. Himself, probably the most.

So. I'm falling asleep and want to keep reading Cut Both Ways by Carrie Mesrobian. I feel way too identified with this book. So. Identified. Fine, not that much. Mostly because the boy is the... uke. To call it that way.
By uke I mean the one on the bottom in gay relationships. I'm not like that, so it's kind of like looking at it from the other side. Plus, he's a dude, I'm not. Women are far more complicated and the social implications of everything fuck up your life at this age. Anyway, I'll copy this and paste it in a new post for Cut Both Ways, 'cause I'm rambling about it and this is Throne of Glass' post.
And there it is. Now I'll copy-paste the reason I don't keep fangirling.
FINE, I'M RAMBLING TOO MUCH. I'm exhausted. I had a really hard day from really early in the morning and didn't sleep shit last night. I'll get some sleep and come back in the morning.
Bye guys! *oo.51 am*
(Now's actually 00.55 am)
(1.01 am now and I'm looking around for some new books)

Okay, I'm back. I barely slept that night. And I got like, five new books. That was eleven days ago.
Now, this book follows Will Caines. His parents are divorced, his dad with some driking problems that were supposed to be over and his project to remodel the house that cause some huge problems. There's also his mother, with her new husband -I believe he's her husband, I don't remember exactly, and telling him to take care of her twin young daughters, and not treating him exactly the way a great mother would.
So, he's having a hard time. And then he gets drunk, and he's high and he makes out with his best friend. 'Where the hell did that came from?' You may be wondering. Well, Will is asking himself the same question. Why in hell does he enjoy so much kissing his absolutely gay best friend, Angus, and also kissing Brandy?
Hell, know the answer. Though it doesn't really matter.
Brandy! I don't like her. Anyway, she's a sophomore girl, younger than him (that's a problem to her in the beginning), that he starts paying more attention at. They actually move pretty fast, and start dating.
So how to deal with his father falling into pieces, his mother mistreating him badly, taking care of his little sister and try to decide what to do about the two people he may or may not love? Trying to understand why does he like being with a man and also being with a woman, and keeping it a secret from everyone, and dealing with this sudden feelings and his family, Will is having a really hard time.
Hope it ends up well, huh?
I like this book because the characters are so realistically complex, and the way they feel about things, and react to them, and their interactions and relationships with other character are that way, too.
Also, the writing is really good. It's an easy read, and I personally feel really identified with the plot. If you haven't been through any situation like these, not even close, and you're not empathetic and open-minded you won't like it. If you have, or you are, then you'll be able to love it among the rest of us.
I already read it. Now you need to go and pick it up right now.
Unless you're homophobic, of course. In that case I'd like to inform you I'm bisexual, and I still do some amazing reviews, laugh at your suffering and look damn great while doing it. We're just like any other fucking person. Put that inside your tiny tiny brain and believe it. Reading this book might help you open your mind a little bit.
This book gets...

I really liked it!

The Sword of Summer, by @camphalfblood

Magnus Chase has always been a troubled kid. Since his mother’s mysterious death, he’s lived alone on the streets of Boston, surviving by his wits, keeping one step ahead of the police and the truant officers.
One day, he’s tracked down by a man he’s never met—a man his mother claimed was dangerous. The man tells him an impossible secret: Magnus is the son of a Norse god.
The Viking myths are true. The gods of Asgard are preparing for war. Trolls, giants and worse monsters are stirring for doomsday. To prevent Ragnarok, Magnus must search the Nine Worlds for a weapon that has been lost for thousands of years.
When an attack by fire giants forces him to choose between his own safety and the lives of hundreds of innocents, Magnus makes a fatal decision.
Sometimes, the only way to start a new life is to die...

It was amazing! (It really was).
The Sword of Summer is the first book in the Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard series, by Rick Riordan. He's Rick Riordan on Facebook and @camphalfblood on Twitter. His official website is as amazing as his books and has lots of great data and useful stuff. And some extra things, I think. Holy shit! Okay, I just opened it and they did a re-designing thing and it's absolutely different. I can't decide if either this one's better, or the last design was.
I think I'll just copy-paste my improvised Facebook review.
I just finished reading The Sword of Summer!
It's the first book in the Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard series, which is Rick Riordan's latest series.
As always, I loved the characters and the sass, and sarcasm and humor in this book. The characters-relationships and plot developments were absolutely awesome and the plot itself was stunning. As in every Rick Riordan book.
Of course it wasn't perfect. The writing is for middle-grade, so it's absolutely understandable the simplicty of it. But it's still there.
Also, some little details I honestly don't have time or patience to point out -and other not-so-little ones, are bothering me.
I found so many things in common with other books of his! Even the Kane Chronicles. The Volkswagen thing, and every other name-pun was a lot like the one with Nut... Yup, Kane Chronicles.
I'm pretty sure all those references where intentional. Especially after the one about Jason... Lol I freaking loved that one.
Rick Riordan's books will make you fall in love, obsess over them, etc, etc, etc. They will also make you go through, literally, mind and physical agony while waiting for the next book because he just seems to love leaving us hanging with one hand holding to the edge of a cliff that leads to Tartatus every time we read the end of one of his books.
Is it too soon guys? Idk, just get it over with already.
Basically, I want the next book. And the Trials of Apollo books. WHICH I SAID WOULD BE PUBLISHED BEFORE EVEN RICK RIORDAN DID, BTW. Told yah. Now the first book will be out soon!
The second book in the Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard series is called (and if you read book one you'll laugh with me at this), 'The Hammer of Thor'. I know, hilarious, right? If you didn't understand, I'm basically commanding you to read the book and then come back and laugh with me.
Anyways, The Ha- Nope, can't say it. The second book will be out on April 10th of 2016. Yay!
The first book in the Trials of Apollo series is called (again, hilarious. But what else should or could we expect from Rick himself?), 'The Hidden Oracle'.
It'll be out on March 5th - Fuck yeah, motherfuckers. I'll have the book for my birthday, 2016.
The Trials of Apollo is another new series by Rick Riordan, and it'll feature, as a more important character than in Magnus Chase (because I'm hoping, begging, praying for him to appear, and I'm 99% sure he will), Percy Jackson. Once again. But, he's not the main character this time. Apollo is.
In The Blood of Olympus there was kind of a really open ending for Apollo, and Rick left us wondering what his punishment would be.Well, here's our answer. I'd post about it, but I don't like it without the cover, so I will when it's revealed. I'll leave the synopsis below this, though.
How do you punish an immortal?
By making him human.
After angering his father Zeus, the god Apollo is cast down from Olympus. Weak and disorientated, he lands in New York City as a regular teenage boy. Now, without his godly powers, the four-thousand-year-old deity must learn to survive in the modern world until he can somehow find a way to regain Zeus's favour.
But Apollo has many enemies - gods, monsters and mortals who would love to see the former Olympian permanently destroyed. Apollo needs help, and he can think of only one place to go . . . an enclave of modern demigods known as Camp Half-Blood.
know, right? Doesn't it sound fucking amazing?
We already know The Trials of Apollo will be another five-books series, like PJO and and Heroes of Olympus.
Magnus Chase, though, will be a trilogy, like the Kane Chronicles. Unless there's a change of plans, but I don't think the plot can extend much further than three books.
YOU SHALL NOT READ THESE BOOKS IF YOU HAVEN'T READ EVERY SINGLE ONE OF RICK'S BOOKS PLACED IN THIS WORLD.
The order would be:
  • The five books in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.
  • The extras from the mentioned series (make no mistake, those are only The Demigod Diaries and The Demigod Files).
  • The Kane Chronicles trilogy.
  • The five books in the Heroes of Olympus series.
  • The three ebook crossovers.
  • Every other extra (there are quite a few).
  • And then The Sword of Summer (Magnus Chase #1).
  • And then The Hidden Oracle (Trials of Apollo #1).
  • And then The Ha- Sorry, I just can't hahahaha. Well, Magnus Chase #2.
SPECIFICALLY IN THAT ORDER. Or else, you'll miss lots of references and it would be like reading half a book. Plus, I'd kill you.
This book obviously gets five out of five stars. And I hardly give four-stars rating. Keep that in mind and read these damn books!
Guys, please read it and suffer with me. Even better, read all of them and fangirl in the comments or to my email so I can see you suffer and laugh. Hahaha.

Appealing new prequel! @JamesDashner

...the novel will explore the creation of the Maze, and how the Gladers all got there. After all, Thomas, Teresa and their fellow Glade-dwellers didn’t choose to jump into that freight elevator and forget their pasts. Or did they?
“From the very beginning, I’ve always wanted to write a prequel about Thomas, Teresa, Newt, Minho, Alby and all the Gladers that leads up to the very moment Thomas enters the Box,” Dashner said in a release that will hit wide later today. “There are so many things hinted at that will be fun to reveal in depth. For years, fans have made it abundantly and enthusiastically clear that they want the same thing, so now seems like the perfect time to give readers the story of how the Maze began.”
So, personally, I'm not a fan of the Maze Runner trilogy, but this should be damn interesting.
Read more here.
MTV News got the exclusive! Lucky guys.
It'll be published by Random House Children's Books, and it'll be out on September 27, 2016!
There's not much more to say, so I guess I'll just leave you to freak out and look forward to this really... Appealing prequel.

The Girl's Got Secrets, by @lindakage

Here’s the same old “girl posing as a boy” story but with a rock-n-roll twist.
Remy Curran dreams of one day being in a band, except the group she wants to join refuses to hire a girl drummer. So, she auditions as a guy...and makes the cut.
Becoming “Sticks,” a member of Non-Castrato, isn’t quite what she dreamed it would be, though. She spends most of her time keeping up the subterfuge and learning how to walk, talk, act, and drink like a man.
But what’s even harder to deal with is acting oblivious when the band’s heartthrob lead singer, Asher Hart, treats her like one of the guys and not a woman. She never imagined he’d be so much more than a pretty face with a nice voice. But he’s better than perfect. He’s perfect for her.
When love and lies combine, Remy must keep up the act or lose everything. But who knew lying to reach one dream could prevent you from attaining an even bigger dream?

Seventh book in the Forbidden Men series, by Linda Kage. Again, the official Facebook group with the author herself is called ‘Forbidden Men Lovers’, in case you want to join.  Plus, there are some really interesting, must-read information in Linda’s website. You need to go to the ‘Bookshelf’, and then to the ‘Forbidden Men Series Page’. Look for the small, blue link.
And yes, I copy-pasted this from the sixth book, right here.
I'll re-read it and then upload the owed review, but to begin with, this book is absolutely not whatever you're imagining right now, so stop the prejudices already. Ok, I do that with books all the time, but that's not the point.
You won't expect what happens in this book. It's great, and I think Linda's writing only gets better with every book she writes. I still have to read her other series... (Yes, there are more series. Read 'em all!).
The plot is just awesome and the two characters are so special! They're unique, and amazing people. And damn surprising, that's sure.
Okay, I got inspired. A bit. I'll make it better really soon, sorry. I've been so fucking busy lately, I can't believe I didn't even have time to write a single freaking review.
Anyway... This book will surprise you, amaze you, make you fall in love and break your heart. And then again, and again, and again. Damnit, it's frustrating. You'll want to kick the characters heart, and then you'll think 'YES! THAT'S IT! DON'T LISTEN TO YOUR STUPID COMMON SENSE, GIRL! IT'S USELESS, GO WITH HIM!'.
By the way, why does everyone pay any attention to their common senses? It's useless. You guys must be bored really often, hahahaha. That goes for some characters I know too. Fuck you guys. No, seriously. Fuck already.
Anyway, I missed the point. But I think you can see just what this book does to you. It'll take your expectatives and throw them away so it can still keep getting better and better.
When I finish re-reading it and I'm on my fangirl-mode I'll write a probably-full-of-spoilers review in white letters... what's the above for under? Oh, below. Below this. I... think.
I'm Argentinian, have mercy! I always confuse the English word with the French one... Mercy. Weird. Like toilet.
Okay, totally rambling now. Sorry, I need to read for a couple hours and get some sleep. Having a conversation/learning Portuguese while having about six or seven conversations in Spanish while writing reviews and reading stuff in English blew up my brain. I need to find an Italian friend to learn some Italian... And convince my Hungarian friends to teach me Hungarian too. You may have noticed, I love learning new languages.
Stop rambling and go to sleep already! Malena, go. Get. Some. Sleep!
Oh, hey there common sense. I thought I had killed you.
I'll go to bed... and read for a while. Take that, common sense.

Worth It, by @lindakage

 I fell in love once.
It was amazing. She was amazing. Life was amazing.
I lived for each time I could see her, and nothing else mattered, not that our families were enemies, our time together was forbidden, or we had to meet in secret.
Our love could conquer all.
Until it didn’t.
So I was ripped away from the love of my life and shoved into hell, forced to continue without her.
It shattered me, broke the best parts of me, left me permanently damaged.
Or so I thought.
Years later, I swear history’s trying to repeat itself because she’s back in my life, and I’m just as drawn to her as I was before. But I’m older and wiser now, and I know she should stay away from a worthless ex-con like me.
So, I will not let her in. I absolutely refuse to hurt her. I will keep her away.
Then again, sometimes risking your greatest fear to get to a smile makes everything worth it, and besides, I’m not sure I can resist her, anyway.
This is the story of how Felicity Bainbridge changed my life forever, starting one summer day long ago after I was forced to change a dirty diaper…

And yes, I copy-pasted this from the fifth book, right here.
I really don’t have much to say… I like Knox, unlike Felicity, and what I like the most in this book, besides the writing, is Knox’s relationship with the other guys. I love it, and how it changes and they come to respect and love him with time. That was a small spoiler, that’s why it’s white. Select it and you’ll be able to see it.
I really don’t have much to say about this book, sorry. I guess I’m not inspired anymore. Damnit. I still have to write the review of the seventh book, and that’s a must-do because of a deal I made with the author/publishing house. I’m not sure which.
Anyway, I liked this book and I enjoyed it, but it’s not as good as the previous ones.

A Perfect Ten, @lindakage

Let your hair down, Caroline, they said. It'll be fun, they said.
I know I've closed myself off in a major way over the past year, ever since “the incident” where I messed up my life completely. It's past time I try to live again or just give up altogether. But this is quite possibly the craziest thing I've ever done. In a last ditch effort to invigorate myself, I'm standing outside Oren Tenning's bedroom, I just peeled off the sexiest pair of underwear I own, and my hand is already raised to knock. My brother would disown me for doing anything with his best friend, and he'd probably kill Oren. But if I play my cards right, no one will ever know about this. Not even Ten.
Maybe after tonight, I’ll finally get over this stupid, irrational crush I hate having on the biggest jerk I’ve ever met. Or maybe I’ll just end up falling for him even harder. Maybe I’ll discover there’s so much more to my crude, carefree hunk than meets the eye.

It was fucking awesome! Best. Book. Ever.
Fifth book in the Forbidden Men series, by Linda Kage.
And yes, I copy-pasted this from the fourth book, right here.
Okay, this book is my favorite in this series, as I previously told you. I can't believe it actually has five out of five stars, but it deserves them.
There's a quote I need to add, so here it goes:
"Damn, I had a freaking stalker.
I grinned, because having a stalker was kind of hot. Crazy chicks are so much more interesting than the sane ones.
'See you then' I said.
To which she immediately responded, 'No, you won't. You better not see shit. I said no lights.'
I shook my head and chuckled under my breath. This woman really did have a mouth on her. That was so awesome. 'Fine. Touch you then? Lick you then? Fuck you then? Which term do you prefer, princess?'
'Any of those will do. Thank you.'
'Okay, fine. Lick you later then, baby.
'Looking forward to it. Goodnight Oren.'
[...]
But it felt wrong not to respond, so I typed, 'Night, Midnight Visitor.' "
"Lick you later, babe."  I mean, holy shit Oren. I love you.
This is my favorite book for many reasons. One of them is the characters and their personalities. I feel far more identified with them than with the others. I'm usually some kind of reading-obssesed mixture of Caroline Gamble and Oren Tenning.  They're also the kind of people I'd get along with, unlike Quinn and Zoey, for example.
Again, the characters are complex, have their own past and it affects them and the way they are in that present day. I love that.
Another reason is the plot. It's got the same structure every book in this series has, but don't think for one moment they can't be unpredictable because they are. And A perfect Ten is the most unpredictable of all. I fucking love this book.
So, there's another quote I  love so fucking much, but it's got spoilers so if you haven't read the book yet, DO NOT READ THE SPOILERS, IT'S A HUGE ONE AND IT'LL RUIN THE WHOLE BOOK FOR YOU.
"Gripping her head between my hands , I whispered a harsh hiss. 'Damn it, Caroline. You started this. You came to me and tricked me into playing with you. Now you have me. Your brother is going to kill us both for this , so you better make it worth our while. You better sit up there and fuck me like you meant to the first night you came into this room, wearing no panties.' "
I just loved this book and I won't get sick of saying it. You. Need. To. Read. This. Series.

With Every Heartbeat, by @lindakage

*New Adult Romance*
**Explicit Scenes and Language**
I used to think everything was black and white, truth or lie, easy or hard, that if I could just escape my strict, overbearing, abusive father, my life would be perfect. But since I’ve found a reason to risk his wrath and leave, to help a friend in need, I’ve come to realize everything I thought I knew is wrong.
Friends have their own agenda, honesty comes with a dosage of lie, easy doesn’t even exist, keeping secrets sucks, and love...love is the most painful thing of all.
Maybe if Quinn Hamilton hadn’t asked me to skip classes for the day and help him pick out an engagement ring for my best friend, I wouldn’t have fallen for him so completely on that sunny Tuesday afternoon and I wouldn’t feel so conflicted. But I did, and I can’t take it back, no matter how hard I try. So I have to deal with the fact that even I’m not as good, or honest, or caring as I’d always thought I was, and no matter what I do next, someone’s going to get hurt. Probably me.

And yes, I copy-pasted this from the third book, right here. As you might have noticed if you read the previous books, I'm lazy and love copy-pasting.
So, this book. Wow, I'm quickly getting sick of this things, but I still have to do a huge-review for the seventh one, so I'll try to make this shorter. You may have noticed, I'm not particularly good at it.
I like this book. It'd more like a 3.5 stars, but whatever.
Quinn and... What's her name? Not Tinkerbell, and not Milk Tits, what was it? Zoey! Zoey's Milk Tits right? She's the one with the babies?
Oh, God. Of course I'm kidding you, did you really believe I would confuse them? Zoey is Blondie and Eva's Milk Tits. Booyah! Um. What the hell is that? Bazinga!* Now that's better.
Yeah. Not good at making it short.
So, if I loved the way last book's main relationship developped, this one I adored. Yes, I like friendzone-books, any problem with that?
I'm leaving! I'll post the next ones asap. Lucky for me, I ran out of time.
Sorry I didn't get to talk more about this one. Read this series! It's really worth it. Read To Professor, with Love too. And this one. The next one is my favorite, so I'm not kidding you it is worth it.
You're really going to like this series, and if you want to know more about Linda's writings I think it's somewhere in my post of Price of a Kiss. Or another post of this series. I don't know, don't be lazy and look for it! And you can love and adore Linda like the rest of us!
If you're actually reading this, Linda, you have no idea how thankful I am, and how much I love your books. I'm doing a huge effort to buy them, so I hope I'll get the money before the offer finishes *begging smile*. Thanks for reading this, and for your amazing books!
Don't laugh at me guys. Believe me, there's an actual possibility she does.

Be my hero, by @lindakage

Once upon a time, there was this pampered rich girl who was kind of full of herself. She really only cared about appearances and hiding all her dark, ugly secrets under the guise of an opinionated snob. But then Eva Mercer got pregnant, shot by a psycho, and kicked out of the only home she knew. Now she’s broke, unemployed, and has to start anew with a newborn to raise. But how?
On the other side of town, sexy, tattooed orphan, Patrick Ryan, can’t get a break. He’s out on parole for defending the last damsel in distress while trying to help her support her child, but all he wants is to find his one true love. He knows this woman by scent, smile, and laugh, but he’s never actually met her. He doesn’t even know her name. He just knows she’s the key to fixing everything.
One kind of hero can save you from physical harm. Another can rescue you from a different kind of doom. To reach their dreams, Eva and Pick can save each other. But first, they must open their hearts and learn how to trust.

Once again, it's not one of my favorite book of the series. I think it's #5 in the ranking, and there are seven books so far so that's not really good.
This book. I love Eva. I fucking love her and because I love Reese and her absolutely gorgeous boyfriend (just in case you didn't read the others yet, I won't name him, but we can all guess, right? Hahaha), I love this book more than I would without them.
Pick Ryan! Pick Ryan. Not my favorite Forbidden Man, again.
Pick is super protective, instinctively, and he's the gentleman in this series. Like, the gentleman.
I don't know what else to say about this book, I barely remember the plot. I can say, though, that I liked they way Pick and Eva's relationship develops.
I'll leave it there, or I'll probably spoil you something accidentaly.

To Professor, with Love, by @lindakage

*new adult romance*
**explicit scenes and language**
Junior in college. Star athlete. Constant attention from the opposite sex.
On this campus, I’m worshiped. While seven hundred miles away, back in my hometown, I’m still trailer park trash, child of the town tramp, and older sibling to three kids who are counting on me to keep my shit together so I can take them away from the same crappy life I grew up in.
These two opposing sides of myself never mix until one person gets a glimpse of the true me. I never expected to connect with anyone like this or want more beyond one night. This may be the real deal.
Problem is, Dr. Kavanagh’s my literature professor.
If I start anything with a teacher and we’re caught together, I might as well kiss my entire future goodbye, as well as my family’s, and especially Dr. Kavanagh’s. Except sometimes love is worth risking everything. Or at least, it damn well better be because I can only resist so much.

As I said in the post of the first book, I love this author. It's the teacher-student thing I don't like. I will warn you, though, don't drop this book so soon. Tbh -for those like the old-me, it means 'to be honest', I hate teacher-students books. I usually think they're all the same, and they're fucking terrible. This one's still a teacher-student book, but it's different. Their relationship is different, and it develops differently. It's still my less-favorite book of the series, right under the fourth one.
So, this book might be the one I liked the less -'the worst' sounds awful, of the whole series so far (I've read until book seven because I- won't tell you until I post that one. Hahaha), but it is really worth it. Okay, inside joke, sorry.
Read the books! Even this one. Don't skip it, they're all related and you'll be spoiled. To Professor, with Love is worth your time too. I still don't like Noel because a) I just don't do his kind of personality and b) he's way too built, but anyway I love the co-protagonist. Except for some moments when I just want to kick her ass out of the book.
Also read it eons ago, so I can't say much more.
Enjoy your reading!

I don’t care what my cousin says; I am not the queen of impossible relationships. I mean, just because my last boyfriend tried to kill me and left a bit of a scar on my neck, then forced me to move across the country and legally change my name to Reese Randall to escape him, does not mean—
Oh, who am I kidding? For a freshman in college, I have to have the worst dating track record ever.
It’s no wonder love is the last thing on my mind when Mason Lowe enters my life. But the chemistry between us is like bam! Our connection defies logic. And he’s just so freaking hot. Being around him makes me feel more alive than I’ve ever felt before. I even like bickering with him. He could be my soul mate... except for one teeny tiny glitch.
He's a gigolo.
Boy, do I know how to pick them.
four_star_rating
This is the first book in the Forbidden Men series, by Linda Kage. It got four out of five stars from me and damn, that's hard. For me, this is what the star-rating means:
One star: I didn't like it.
Two stars: It was okay.
Three stars: I liked it.
Four stars: I really liked it.
Five stars: It's fucking awesome. Best. Book. Ever.
So. I really liked this book. This series, actually. It's really original, and the characters are really good. They're complex and have their own past, all of them. And it affects them and their personality.
Just a short text 'cause I've read it eons ago. I should probably re-read.
The bad thing about this series is that all of the books have nearly the same structure, but Linda still manages to shock the hell out of you every single time, I promise.
This series is highly recommended.
There's an official Facebook group with the author and yes, she actually comments stuff. She answered a couple comments of my own! I freaked out hahaha. It's called "Forbidden Men Lovers", if you're interested.
Plus, there are some really interesting, must-read information in Linda's website. You need to go to the 'Bookshelf', and then to the 'Forbidden Men Series Page'. Look for the small, blue link.

Find Out Which 'Dream Team' You Belong To

Hey Turtles!
Personally I think, we aren't thinking too much about our dreams, about what we want to earn in this life or just little kind of things that we want to have. I made this test for you to know, how much you do in order to make those dreams come true. If you found out that you're an 'Acceptor', a 'Hopeful' or an 'Ambitious', you'll immediately know what you REALLY have to do. I'm going to write other articles about these groups so you can better know, what to do. Please, make sure you comment below, which Team you belong to, so I know, in my next article, which Team I should write about :) Thanks! x

1.  You feel like you have done everything that is in your power, and just have learned from morning to night in order to get an A in biology, but you  notice that you got a D. What do you think?

  • A: 'Ah...whatever! I did everything that I could, but if they feel this way, I can accept it.'
  • B: 'What? But I learned a lot ... well it might have been even more in order to get a better note'
  • C: 'What??? I don't believe it! I couldn't have learned more than that. I did everything in order to succeed... well I don't understand. What happened to my note?'

2. You're in a foreign town. You heard that if you throw a coin in a fountain and wish for something, that will be met within 24 hours. What do you do?

  • A: I don't do anything, because it's true that I really want to go to a concert of my favourite band, I know it can't be met within 24 hours.
  • B: I throw a coin in the fountain, I close my eyes and with all my strength I concentrate on my dream.
  • C: I throw not one, but at least three coins in the fountain, hoping that at least three of my many dreams will be fulfilled.

3. Since your childhood, your dream is to become the prom queen at the school ball one day. Now you got a chance. What do you do?

  • A: I don't care, because I know that only my best friends would vote for me. A lot of girls are in the school, who are more beautiful than me.
  • B: I'm applying, because why not?
  • C: I'm obviously applying to be the prom queen, because I have as much chance as the others. In addition, I ask all my friends to ask all their friends to vote for me, because I'm dreaming about it for a very long time.

4. You want to be an actress, and there is a casting in the town for a movie. What do you do?

  • A: I don't apply yet, but I go to estimate how much chance would I have, if I'd apply.
  • B: I apply and I do it anxiously, then I hope all day that my phone will be ringing.
  • C: It's completely sure that I apply, because I want to be an actress, right? Then I call the directors all day and ask when do I find out whether I got into the cast.

5. You find 10$ on the sidewalk, when you're walking alone on the street. What do you do?

  • A: I don't pick it up, because it's not mine and the "owner" will be surely searching for it.
  • B: I take it into my wallet and buy a new shirt in my favourite store, because of SALE.
  • C: I take it into my wallet and then at home I put it into my piggy bank, in which I collect the money for the holiday.

6. Your favorite singer from your favorite band just followed you on Twitter. What do you do?

  • A: I can't believe it happened, so I check it thousand times to make sure it's true and then I watch a movie.
  • B: I just stare the notification, then I cry and I tweet him to thank him for the follow.
  • C: I'm jumping up and down and maybe I cry and then send him lots of direct messages, if he doesn't respond for a several days, I'll be very sad.

7.. It's summer break, and you have lots of plans, but your dream is that you can visit America one day. What do you do during summer?

  • A: I read, I shop, I go to the beach, I sleep for a long time and I use the internet.
  • B: I read, I shop, I go to the beach and I do some student work.
  • C: I will do everything in order to collect a lot of money during the three month break, but I'm also on vacation.

8.. You are invited to a party, you're absolutely in no mood to go, but later it comes to your knowledge that your crush will also be there. What are you doing?

  • A: I don't go because I can see him at other times too, but I still don't feel like I could go to the party.
  • B: I'm thinking a lot about it, but in the end I go to the party just to see him.
  • C: Immediately I decide to go to the party where I'll talk with him.

ASSESSMENT

If most of your answers were A's:

The Acceptor: You're realist, you can notice if your dreams have been far exceeded the verge of reality, so you don't really want to fight for them. You accept that not everyone can become a millionaire or rich superstar. You live your life so happily as you just can. But sometimes the acceptance you take is too much, because it happens many times that you think the smaller ones are big, too. That's why you do nothing so that they can become a reality. In this case it's just going to be worse to yourself ...

If most of your answers were B's:

The Hopeful: Around the dreams, you're the one who is in the 'golden mean'. You know which dreams are the ones you could realize, and which ones can you hardly. So it's quite suspected that sometimes your dreams come true. But there are 'bigger ones' that you tag with the label 'I can't achieve them'... well in this case you won't achieve them. You're hoping they can come true, too, but since you squeeze them behind your back, unfortunately, they won't become true...

If most of your answers were C's:

The Ambitious: Well, you can call yourself really lucky, at least people around you are constantly telling you about it. Not sure if you can always admit it to yourself. The fact is that you're aware of the availability of dreams, but even they're big, even they seem unreachable, you want to achieve all one by one. You work a lot to get all those wishes, even if it involves a lot of sweat and work. It's all honorable, but with you, the problem is that sometimes you don't realize how lucky you are, how many of your dreams came true. You still want to achieve more and more. The question is whether there is more...

My favorite books on Goodreads!

Sorry for being late! I've been having some really rough days. Here's the post, finally!

I only have sixteen books on my favourites shelf on Goodreads, and I wanted to talk to you guys about them. They're just amazing and I'm hoping I'll either be able to get you to read some of them or talk to you about the ones you already read.
The first one in my list, from the oldest to the newest ones, is Murder in the Orient Express, by Agatha Christie.

"Just after midnight, a snowdrift stopped the Orient Express in its tracks. The luxurious train was surprisingly full for the time of the year. But by the morning there was one passenger fewer. A passenger lay dead in his compartment, stabbed a dozen times, his door locked from the inside."
Agatha Christie is one of the greatest authors of this genre. What makes her books so special to me is the way she leaves clues all over the book. They're everywhere. Yet, you can't possibly figure out who the murderer is.
The weirdest thing about her books is that, whoever you talk to, they did the same reading process you did. They suspected of the same people you did. Do  you know why's that? Because Agatha Christie's superpower is subtle manipulation. She doesn't only leave clues about the true murderer, she also leaves fake clues everywhere. All over the book. And she manages to only get you to find the fake ones. You don't even know what the hell those clues are! You suddenly have a new suspect and can't explain how the hell did you get to that conclusion.
At the end, Poirot explains the way he found out who the killer was, and it always sounds so damn logical and obvious!

These books are amazing, and if you're into this genre or want to try it out, this is the book for you.

Five damn stars on Goodreads.

The next book I want to talk to you about, is Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin. Okay, now it's fifteen books on my favorites shelf. This is four-stars rated.

So, the next book is... La sombra del viento, by Carlos Ruiz Zafón! - The Shadow of the Wind in the English edition.

This book deserves about six stars, but it's not even possible so, sadly, I had to leave it five-stars rated. Here's the synopsis in English!

"Barcelona, 1945: A city slowly heals in the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War, and Daniel, an antiquarian book dealer’s son who mourns the loss of his mother, finds solace in a mysterious book entitled The Shadow of the Wind, by one Julián Carax. But when he sets out to find the author’s other works, he makes a shocking discovery: someone has been systematically destroying every copy of every book Carax has written. In fact, Daniel may have the last of Carax’s books in existence. Soon Daniel’s seemingly innocent quest opens a door into one of Barcelona’s darkest secrets--an epic story of murder, madness, and doomed love."
This is the first book in The Cemetery of Forgotten Books series. I know, it sounds great uh? Well, it's even better.

This book... I've got no words for this book, but I guess I'll have to try.

It hits you right in the feels. This book makes you feel such strong feelings of happiness, empathy, sadness --more like depression, tbh, and many others. It makes you... Ponder. About life, its meaning, its purpose for you. About yourself, the way you are and what it means. About the other people, about the way people lives and the way they should live.

This, is a book with a message. Many messages, and all of them deep, important.

Also, the plot is just fucking awesome -let's break the philosophical atmosphere here. Such amazing plot-twists, you can never guess what's coming. This books keeps you on your toes since the very beginning, and for days after you finish it.
Just- Just read it, okay?

I chose the Spanish cover 'cause
the English one is awfu

So... What's next? Okaaay, The High Lord by Trudi Canavan. This book is just great. I would have probably rated it four-stars, but the end gave it the little push it needed for the fifth star. And far more. Damnit, the end of this book... I just sat there, completely shocked. I was kind of in denial at the beginning. And I won't start with the next series because it was just as good at this one, or even better. I tend to think it's better.

Warning: the synopsis below contains huge spoilers. I seriously do NOT recommend to read it.

In the city of Imardin, where those who wield magic wield power, a young street-girl, adopted by the Magician's Guild, finds herself at the centre of a terrible plot that may destroy the entire world...

Sonea has learned much at the magicians' guild and the other novices now treat her with a grudging respect. But she cannot forget what she witnessed in the High Lord's underground room - or his warning that the realm's ancient enemy is growing in power once more. As Sonea learns more, she begins to doubt her guildmaster's word. Could the truth really be as terrifying as Akkarin claims, or is he trying to trick her into assisting in some unspeakably dark scheme?

Since this is the third book in The Black Magician Trilogy, I won't say more about it. I just love it. I will though, leave the synopsis of the first book --The Magician's Guild, below this.

"We should expect this young woman to be more powerful than our average novice, possibly even more powerful than the average magician."
This year, like every other, the magicians of Imardin gather to purge the city of undesirables. Cloaked in the protection of their sorcery, they move with no fear of the vagrants and miscreants who despise them and their work-—until one enraged girl, barely more than a child, hurls a stone at the hated invaders...and effortlessly penetrates their magical shield.
What the Magicians' Guild has long dreaded has finally come to pass. There is someone outside their ranks who possesses a raw power beyond imagining, an untrained mage who must be found and schooled before she destroys herself and her city with a force she cannot yet control.
I know you will love this series.

Okay, this post got far too long. I guess I'll split it into two or three parts. Whatever's necessary. I'll try to post the parts during the week, so I can post something else next Sunday.
To get exactly three parts, I'll add two more books to this post. Here it goes!

So, Graceling! By Kristin Cashore, the first book in the Graceling Realm trilogy.

Katsa has been able to kill a man with her bare hands since she was eight - she's a Graceling, one of the rare people in her land born with an extreme skill. As niece of the king, she should be able to live a life of privilege, but Graced as she is with killing, she is forced to work as the king's thug.

When she first meets Prince Po, Graced with combat skills, Katsa has no hint of how her life is about to change.

She never expects to become Po's friend.

She never expects to learn a new truth about her own Grace - or about a terrible secret that lies hidden far away...

This book is absolutely awesome. For some reason, I felt identified with Katsa -I honestly don't know why. Also, the characters are so complex... They're Graces, the qualification people do depending on what it is, the way it influences their opinion about themselves.

Katsa is used for years as a killing machine by his uncle, she believes she really is one. And yet... She er... How to say this without spoilers? Yet, she doesn't follow his orders blindly. She is cruel? Yes. She's deadly? Yes. Murders most of her targets? Yes. But she's got a little vein of mercy, compassion and empathy inside her, and it develops as the book goes on.
It's an amazing story, absolutely unpredictable and non-stereotyped.

Final book! The second book in this series, Fire.

It is not a peaceful time in the Dells. The young King Nash clings to his throne while rebel lords in the north and south build armies to unseat him. The mountains and forests are filled with spies and thieves and lawless men.

This is where Fire lives. With a wild, irresistible appearance and hair the color of flame, Fire is the last remaining human monster. Equally hated and adored, she had the unique ability to control minds, but she guards her power, unwilling to steal the secrets of innocent people. Especially when she has so many of her own.

Then Prince Brigan comes to bring her to King City, The royal family needs her help to uncover the plot against the king. Far away from home, Fire begins to realize there's more to her power than she ever dreamed. Her power could save the kingdom.

If only she weren't afraid of becoming the monster her father was.

In a realm next to the Graceling realm, beyond the mountains range, lies a place where there are no Gracelings. Instead, there are Monsters. They're not different. Monsters have all the same magic... gifts. There's not only Monster people, there are Monster ravens too, etc.
This kingdom is at war, and needs an advantage. Fire's relationship with the King ends up in an incredible chain of events and people realises -Fire realises, that her power, not too well-considered, could save the whole kingdom.
In the meanwhile, this girl has her own personal problems. Men, of course -always messing up our heads, aren't you?, but also her own developing-even-more powers, and... A couple more things I won't say 'cause spoiler.
Dealing with a former-lover and the whole I-want-you/I-don't, I'm-supposed-to-hate-you/I-think-I'm-falling-for-you thing... And saving the kingdom, of course. Or attempting to. I think it's kind of a lot to deal with, isn't it?
In a story with the always-there war and love, but also friendship, old lost friends and many other... sensitive topics wrapped up in a story that will keep you on your toes the whole time.
You'll cry, you'll laugh, you'll be shocked and jump out of pure joy. I can assure you, you will definetely enjoy this series.

That's it! Kind of a review-a-thon, now that I think about it. Short, not-detailed reviews, but still.
Some of the other books are rather unknown, and really great. And they've got more comedy. One of them even made me cry out of laugh many times.
So, you tell me, should I post another part of this?
Hope it wasn't too boring to you! If you liked it, even better.
xoxo
